Torre de Núñez originated in Lugo, the part of Galicia where meat is an art. We have produced meat products for over 50 years. We have experience and history.

 

Founders Manuel José Núñez Aldegunde and María Asunción Torre Penelas began distributing their meat products over half a century ago all across Spain. Due to the positive reception of their products, they began an expansion process in the 1980s that started with the construction of our first factory on the outskirts of the city of Lugo.

Torre de Núñez continued to grow, establishing ourselves successfully on the domestic market and reaching more and more consumers. In 2000, we built a 15,000 sq. m plant equipped with the latest technology in meat production. Years later, the expansion continued with a new plant dedicated exclusively to making ham, with a capacity for 400,000 units a year. In 2016, we opened the new sliced products plant, which we expanded in 2019.

Torre de Núñez is constantly growing. In all these years, we have focused on improving our day-to-day operations, consolidating and expanding. And all of that to satisfy the public and secure their loyalty.

ISO 9001:2000 CERTIFIED
“ISO 9001:2000 Certification” obtained in 2005 for Quality Management Systems, which we renewed in 2008 under the 9001:2008 standard.

QUALITY & GUARANTEE MARK
ISO 9001:2000 Certification for Quality Management Systems. This year we also achieved coverage for our Cured Ham and Cured Pork Loin under the Galicia Calidade Guarantee Mark.

TSG CERTIFICATION
TSG (Especialidad Tradicional Guarantizada – Traditional Speciality Guaranteed) product certification, which covers the demanding specifications for Spanish Serrano Ham.

GALICIA CALIDADE
The premium semi-cured chorizo and rib-free streaky bacon are now included under the Galicia Calidade seal.

SAE CERTIFICATION
Inclusion on the SAE certification, enabling us to export to other countries.

IFS CERTIFICATE
In 2014, the company earned IFS certification for Serrano Ham at the O Corgo plant.

SERRANO HAM CONSORTIUM
In 2015, we joined the Serrano Ham Consortium.

SPANISH CHORIZO CONSORTIUM
We recently joined the Spanish Chorizo Consortium, which guarantees the quality and origins of our chorizos.

IFS CERTIFICATE
In 2016, we earned IFS certification at all our plants.

iTQi
In 2017, our “Sin +” sausages were awarded two stars at the iTQi (International Taste and Quality Institute) awards.

SPANISH HEART FOUNDATION
Our ham is now part of the PASFEC programme due to its low salt content.
